Get Involved with Our Events

In addition to awareness and celebration campaigns, we support and organize a number of events. Through these special occasions and opportunities, we give members of our community the chance to come together for fun times and good causes. Some of our events include:

Giving Back to Houston Foodbanks

Volunteer support is critical to our mission of leading the fight against hunger! The Houston Food Bank utilizes volunteers six days a week at our main warehouse. Whether you come out as an individual or part of a group, we are certain you will have an enjoyable, positive experience.

Please Note:

  • Volunteers MUST be at least six years old and supervised by parents or guardians throughout the shift.
  • All volunteers under the age of 18 also need a completed Youth Volunteer Consent Form signed by a parent or guardian.
  • Please plan to arrive at least fifteen minutes before your scheduled volunteer shift so you can check-in, receive instructions, and start on time. If you arrive after the start of your shift, you may have to wait up to 30 minutes for orientation and assignment. If members of your group arrive late, we cannot guarantee they will be able to join you in your assigned project area.

Boxing Lessons

Do you know a child who needs a chance to let off steam in a healthy environment while learning coordination, discipline, and commitment? Reach out to us to learn about our boxing program. We have been blessed to welcome Steve Trumble, "The Rumble" as one of Boxing Program instructors. Steve retired from boxing with over 20 years of experience.

Summer Enrichment

Keep kids engaged over the summer months with our enrichment program. Hosted at the Spring Texas Skate Park, this is the perfect opportunity to foster continued success outside of the traditional school term. Plus, children gain the chance to connect with others in the community, an invaluable experience that we see as an investment in Houston's future.
